Whether we like the thought or not, further debt is a risk. It is a change or an alteration to your current lifestyle, and therefore will have its impacts. Decisions are made on the picture of a current position, and assumptions about the outlook of the future, but as we all know, life isn’t always a straight line, and unexpected events can occur.
Because it is difficult, or in most cases impossible to see what the future holds, it is important we then look to protect ourselves against the possibility of circumstances that are likely, or foreseeable. It can be a tough process to think about the possibility of negative occurrences, but it is definitely necessary to ensure we have ourselves insured, so that we can rest assured our loved ones and ourselves are taken care of financially.
If it’s been a while since you’ve had your insurances reviewed, it is definitely worthwhile to get in contact with us to see what can be offered. In most of the following cases we would recommend having a free review:
Significant life event or are expecting one, such as the birth of a child, marriage, buying a property (first, or investment), taking on further debt for any particular reason.
If you are self-employed and are paying high ACC levies.
Your premiums may be too high for the level of cover you’ve got.
Make sure that your cover is adequate, and/or appropriate for you.
If you hold your risk insurance with your bank (you maybe paying higher premiums for products with significantly less benefits).
If you have only been presented or have only One Companies product (there are others out there that maybe better suited to you).
In numerous cases, we have seen clients with inappropriate cover, or who are paying far too much for the level of cover they have, and in most cases this is due to not having a review often enough.
For the most part, studies have shown that New Zealander’s are underinsured. Smart investors take calculated risks, insuring against these risks will allow you to be certain that you will get the best of both worlds, along with also the peace of mind that you have all of your bases covered.
Typically, Statistically, these are some of the scary facts:
What could happen to this family?
These facts are significant when the following is taken into account; in your day-to-day life, your current position is taken for granted. Mr. & Mrs. Smith currently have commitments for their incomes. Being a typical couple with children in their 30’s, there isn’t a significant amount of surplus cash-flow, if one income were to be lost due to one of the above causes.
Kris has provided us with outstanding service as our mortgage broker.
Previously to Kris, we had worked with two brokers who both had excuses as to why they could not find us the finance we required.
Kris spent time understanding our goals and financial position and gave us plenty of finance options to consider.
Kris works hard to understand what finance options will work for each particular property and how to improve your borrowing potential for future purchases.
Kris has the all important ‘can do’ attitude.
I have recommended Kris to several of my investor colleagues.
I met Kris by recommendation a few months ago.
Since then Kris has helped me and my friends to obtain finance for various properties.
I enjoy dealing with Kris very much because he thinks fasts and acts promptly. He is also very experienced and upfront; he often can provide
valuable advice on the spot, which I value a lot.
I recommend Kris to my friends without hesitation.
From working with and knowing many mortgage brokers, I know that many understand finance but have a poor comprehension of property investment.
With growing my investment portfolio I needed someone who understood both.
Your knowledge, the advice you imparted and speed at which things were put together were invaluable for me in securing my latest investment
purchase.
Until my next one.
After trying for 2 months to get short term bridging finance through 2 banks and another broker with no result, I approached Kris and had iit sorted within days.
Very efficient and great communication.
Highly recommended.
I just wanted to let you know that Ryan Smuts has been fantastic to deal with. He is very pleasant and easy to deal with and keeps us up to date all the way about where things are at.
He has managed to pull off a loan approval when the banks are holding on to their money for life and look for reasons to shoot down loan
approvals.
We are very impressed with Ryan and he is a great asset to your team.
Buying my house on my own was a pretty stressful process, Ryan and Serena worked brilliantly with me, my lawyer and banks to secure my new
mortgage and home on the same day as settling on my previous home! Highly recommend this team.
A+ Cheers.
